My name is Relly King, I am currently an art student at Sewanee, University of the South.
My work is consists of mixed media paintings that is inspired by the celebration of women. The work abstractly deals with various hardships that women often face; for example body image issues as well as sexual assault are two of the main topics that these pieces are fueled by. Rather than focusing on the somberness of these issues this work instead celebrates women and the sacred female body. While there are hints of a seriousness to the pieces overall they are meant to feel beautiful.
